A five-hundred-year-old bloody game of vengeance will need to be put on hold if vampires are to survive the zombie uprising. Britannia and Nicholas, bitter enemies and the only two surviving vampires left in London, have to work together to save un-infected humans and deliver them safely to a vampire stronghold in the Scottish Highlands. Unable to drink the zombie "bad blood," the remaining vampires need the humans to stay alive. But will the vampires tell the survivors who they are and what they want from them? About the Author
Why are zombies so scary? Is it that they are pack animals who gather together with a collective groan and the one-track purpose of stripping the flesh from your bones? Is it that they are usually pretty hideous? Is it that their very presence would signify the end of the world as you know it? Yep, all of those reason and then some make zombies one of the few monsters we wouldn’t want shuffling our streets. Gorgeous vampires that sweep us off our feet, bare chested werewolves (in human form) that could double as boyfriend and dog, even Egyptian Mummies have a kind of strange mystique about them – or is that just me? All others can be dealt with, lusted after, or even accepted, just not zombies.
They can’t be reasoned with. They have no thought process and are quite committed about eating you no matter what you try to bribe them with. They’re determined to devour you (and not in a good way!) because it’s their only desire, their only driving force. They are basic and that basic need is your flesh. And when they catch you, which they inevitably seem to do, they have no mercy – they don’t even hesitate.
You wouldn’t want to be part of their undead groaning gang either – not an attractive social prospect. Also, and this is the big gulp factor for me, they are us. There are more dead people buried in the ground than living on it, and there always will be – we’re already out-numbered. Unlike the beautiful youthful vampire, zombies warn us of our inevitable rotting fate. They are the consistent clawing reminder that we all die. Our beautiful clothes will eventually turn to rags and no matter how clean you are, or how much perfume you use, you’ll smell. And smell really bad.
Now for the incredibly scary thing…zombies are not as farfetched as you’d think. Okay, the dead rising from their graves might be taking it a bit far, but a virus, a parasite or a fungus designed in a morally corrupt lab that infects the living – well now that’s why zombies are so scary!
Now although the reason why Britain is now lousy with the shuffling undead isn’t fully explained in my book, Bad Blood. But fortunately for the human survivors there a few good vampires who are willing to do something about it. So buy your copy of Bad Blood today, curl up and take a zombie-fied tour of London and beyond – the vampires will watch your back, they’ll keep a close eye on your neck too!
