My Thoughts

*Spoilers for Book 1 and 2*

I'm a tad disappointed at how this book went down. Slated and Fractured showed so much promise that I was salivating at the chance to finally read Shattered and seeing that promise fulfilled, but unfortunately, that's not what happened.

This trilogy could have been truly amazing, but it just fell short of that. I had been cutting Kyla some slack cause she was too jumbled up with all her different identities, but she had straitened out for the most part here and she still ended up doing some stuff where I just face palmed and mostly all in regards to Ben. Yes, to my utter dismay, Ben was back. I didn't like him in the first two books, and I liked him even less in this one. But my problem with him in this one was Kyla's response to him. My other major issue was all the little coincidences that started adding up. Always being at the right place at the right time. Sometimes even going places just cause and stumbling into something huge. Reinforcements showing up at the exact time. And the resolution?! Omg, can you say anticlimactic? (view spoiler)

I did like how all the main points started adding up at the end to form the big picture. I just didn't like how Terry got there. It felt cheap to me. I felt deprived.

If you have been keeping up with this trilogy then you should obviously finish it, just don't go in expecting major fireworks.
